BiographyCotti is an established producer, DJ, and MC hailing from Brixton, South London. He is one half of '-30 Recordings' along with his musical partner Cluekid. Cotti also runse his own solo label, 'Bassface Recordings', which was launched at the end of 2007. Cotti has grown up around music and was very keen to experiment with it from a younga age, initially writing lyrics and then eventually moving on to actual music production. He formed the 4N Format Crew, a grime collective based in South London, in 2004. The crew had shows on Ontop FM and Rinse FM, but do so no longer due to unforeseen circumstances. Cotti originally made garage and grime music, starting in 1999, before meeting DJ Chef in 2005 who introduced him to the dubstep sound. With Cluekid, they were introduced to Loefah (DMZ), who gave them even more insight into the emerging dubstep sound, allowing them to become more involved in the growing dubstep scene. COTTI & CLUEKID HAVE BEEN DJ'ING OUT IN CLUBS IN AND AROUND LONDON WHERE THEY HAVE HADE A RAPID REPONSE ABOUT THIER PRODUCTIONS AND THIER INDIVIDUAL SOUNDS, THEY HAVE PLAYED AT THE MASSIVE DMZ IN BRIXTON MASS, DUBLOADED IN BRISTOL & FOR CHANNEL 4 RADIO JUST TO NAME A FEW. THEY HAVE ALSO GUESTED ON KISS 100 DJ HATCHA'S SHOW AND DJ CAMEO'S BBC 1XTRA SHOW. COTTI MAKES MUSIC PERIOD BUT FOCUSES MAINLY ON RELEASING DUBSTEP, HE HAS ALSO WORKED WITH VARIOUS VOCALIST TOO AND HAS PLANS TO RELEASE AN ALBUM DEMONSTRATING THE VARIOUS VOCAL STYLES OVER VARIOUS DUBSTEP BACKING TRACKS. 4N Format CrewFormed by Cotti in 2004, and consisting of mc's Cotti, Slickman, Cluekid, Ashman, and Viser with DJs Goli-f & Gumma, they are based in South London and first landed a show on South London's Ontop FM (95.50 FM). After approximately six months, the crew gained a slot on Rinse FM (100.4 FM) along side collectives such as Roll Deep, the Newham Generals, and Ruff Sqwad. Releases
Recent activitiesCotti has since gone on to become one of dubstep's most sought-after DJ/producers, with releases such as 'Sensi Dub', 'I Don't Give a Dub', 'The Legacy', and 'Mozart 3000'. 'The Legacy' was released on one of Cotti's labels (-30) and 'Mozart 3000' on his other label 'Bassface Records', with 'Sensi Dub' and I Don't Give a Dub' released on white label.
