Biography

Jammer (also known as The Murkle Man) is a record producer, rapper and MC from Leytonstone, East London. He began in the 187 Crew, where he worked as a producer with MCs D Double E and Hyper and the group later amalgamated into Nasty Crew, whose orginal members only consisted of Marcus Nasty, Stormin, and Sharkey Major. Jammer was a recognised figure within the group, producing hits such as 'Take You Out', before eventually leaving due to crew disgreements. His first production release, entitled 'Organise' and featuring Double and Armour, was signed by the label Lock On Records, and he has worked with many artists in the grime scene as MC and producer, as well as others such as Mike Skinner.

Jammer's most memorable song was the club favourite "The Murkle Man", the first well-known track to feature his own vocals. Prior to being an MC, he was mainly a producer, working for Jahmek the World Productions, a small collective of producers and MCs from the UK urban scene, mainly genres such as 2-step, 4x4, dubstep and grime. Jammer is responsible for creating the Lord Of The Mics 1 and its successor Lord Of The Mics 2. He is the creator of Neckle Camp, and also affiliated with the 'Slew Dem Crew', and features on the Slew Dem production Non Stop Working CD/DVD.

In the first quarter of 2008, it was revealed that Jammer has been signed to Dirtee Stank Records, Dizzee Rascal's label that has also signed the Newham Generals.
