London is the capital and largest city of the England, and the of the United Kingdom. To many people, London is perceived as the spiritual home of Grime, Garage and the UK Hip Hop scene. London holds host to many of the UK's top Grime Artists, Producers, Grime DJs and Grime Crews .

Demographics

There are 32 Boroughs in London, although people tend to represent themselves simply as being from, North London, South London, East London or West London. The border between South London and North London is separated by the River Thames.

Crime

London is known for having large gangs operating in the metropolis. Figures from the Metropolitan Police Service have revealed the density of murders occurring on London's streets.

The news came as statistics compiled by the Metropolitan Police Service revealed that more than half of murder victims in the capital last year were from ethnic minority groups.

A total of 26 teenagers were killed last year.

Figures for 2007, seen by the Financial Times, show that the borough of Lambeth had the highest murder rate at 23, followed by Newham, which was the scene for 13 murders.

The murder rates, when mapped out, reveal that a large number of homicides take place in socially deprived neighborhoods of London.

Due to high murder rates in London, many Police Officers, Politicians, MP's and senior high officials have blamed Grime and Hip Hop music's content for glorifying violent behavior. This has lead to a push in content censorship on Radio and TV stations like Channel U.
